ABN holder solutions

Engage ABN holders without the compliance risk

Working with sole traders is flexible, but misclassification carries back-pay, super and penalty exposure. We assess each engagement and give you a compliant way to pay.

Who it is for

Businesses and recruitment agencies that engage individual contractors on ABNs and want certainty about classification, super obligations and personal services income rules.

What is included

  • Engagement review against employee versus contractor tests
  • Personal services income (PSI) assessment
  • Contractor onboarding: ABN, GST and insurance checks
  • Invoice processing and payment on a weekly cycle
  • Option to move high-risk engagements onto PAYG payroll

How it works

  1. Tell us about the engagement

Role, duration, how the work is directed and paid.

  2. We assess the risk

A written view on classification and super obligations.

  3. Onboard the contractor

We collect ABN, insurance and bank details.

  4. Pay on schedule

We process invoices and pay weekly.

Common questions

Is an ABN enough to make someone a contractor?

No. Courts look at the whole relationship. Having an ABN does not settle whether someone is an employee.

Do I owe super on ABN contractors?

Sometimes. If a contract is wholly or principally for a person's labour, super can apply even when they have an ABN. We check this for each engagement.

Can you take over existing contractors?

Yes. We review each one and move them across without a break in pay.

Starting a new contract?

Tell us your start date and rate. We will have you set up before your first timesheet is due.
